From the Editor:

Last month I mentioned that Secretary of State Colin Powell was irritating me because of his statement that Israel isn't getting anywhere by 'seeing how many Palestinians can be killed.'

Well, this month my beef is with the head honcho himself, President George W. Bush. Under extensive international pressure (mainly leftist-Europe and Arab countries), George W. changed his stance from tacitly approving the Israeli incursion into the West Bank to outright demanding a withdrawal from Ramallah, Nablus and other cities that the IDF has entered.

I agree that Israel should eventually withdraw from these areas. But not until the Sharon government is confident that the IDF has done as much as possible to root out the terrorist infrastructure.

Sharon said last week that most European leaders who have recently called him have inquired about how comfortable Arafat is in his compound, rather than discussing the continual suicide attacks against Israelis. This speaks volumes about the priorities of many of these leaders. The president needs to ignore international pressure and stant up for what's right.

President Bush needs to stop wavering and instead offer consistent support to our ally's struggle to rid herself of terror.

Enjoy the issue!
