A dynamic, excited collection of performers, TEMPO strives to promote and perform today's music - written by both emerging and established composers - and present it in a meaningful, engaging context. The ensemble is an organization that consists of instrumentalists, vocalists, composers, and dancers. The "organization" format allows us the ability to perform lager-scale chamber orchestra-type works as well as small ensembles, duos, or even solos, depending upon what a given program requires, and allows participants the flexibility to devote time to one or two pieces with the group per semester rather than grappling with an entire multi-program season. Members of TEMPO have performed internationally in a variety of contexts, and are dedicated to the task of making the music that they love inspiring to a diverse audience. TEMPO's primary tasks are to inspire, to teach, and to escort the next generation through music by living composers, and to work with these composers to sculpt the direction of music into the next century.
