Club Committees!
Right now we have four committee positions filled. Do you think you're capable to fill other positions on our executive board? We need your help, and committee positions are great ways to become more involved, especially for freshmen.
Want to become more involved, but don't see a chair that fits your liking? Have a stellar service idea? Want to make a difference? Send an email to Cal Burton and we will work to make your idea a reality!
You can download the application here (right click and save as), and email the completed application to Cal Burton by September 30th, 2009.
Committees Chairs / Appointees Include
- Editor (Melissa Solomon): This position is tasked with writing the club's newsletter, and maintaining the club directives to be passed onto the next year. This position is perfect for ordered people, or journalism majors. The newsletter usually will be produced three times each semester, and it is recommended that the editor write an article for the Capital Courier once a semester.
- One-time Service Project Chair (VACANT): This committee chair will create a unique service project by Spring 2009. The only limit is the chair's imagination! We can make this however fun, exciting, and rewarding as we want. A proposal will have to be submitted to the exciting board giving ideas, then a proposal will have to be submitted outlining how the chosen project will be implemented. Finally, we will perform the service!
- Fundraising Chair (VACANT): This position is tasked with working with the treasurer in order to arrange fundraising opportunities to help us give our club better service and club meetings. The type of fundraising is up to the chair, but the ideas are subject to approval by the executive board.
- Webmaster (VACANT) : This is pretty straightforward; the webmaster is responsible for maintainence of the website and taking care of keeping it up-to-date. The webmaster may redesign the site as they see fit, but must maintain a certain degree of functionality. The only requirement beyond maintenance is the incorporation of a multimedia element onto the site.
- Club Builiding and Recruitment (PR) Chair (Juliane Birke): The PR chair is tasked with promoting our club. Although we have already booked a window in Stamp and have always participated in the First Look Fair, we are open to new ideas to help get our name out on campus!
- Social Chair (Kevin Sun): The social chair is tasked with fulfilling one of CKI's three tenets: fellowship. This year, we are planning to participate in an intramural sports team and also will try to attend a sporting event as a group! We are also making scrapbooking a club-wide event.
- Historian (Megan Eng): The historian is responsible for recording what the club has done throughout the year. When she is unable to attend an event, she finds someone else to attend in order to record the event. The culminating project of the historian is creating a scrapbook that we submit for awards judging at DCON.
