the College Park Skydiving Crew!
"Thinking back, I would have paid double for my first jump if they wanted me to.
You can't really put a price on that first taste of pure adrenaline."
-Former Club President & biomedical engineering major Bobby Gill.
Interested in skydiving?
Well you're in the right place! The UMD Skydiving Club is one of the areas only collegiate skydiving organization that allows anyone (students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, etc.) enjoy the rush of freefall. We are a student organization here at the University of Maryland, funded by the Student General Assembly, whose purpose is to spread interest and get more people involved in skydiving. Don't have any previous experience or any training? Thats OK! We all have to start somewhere, and why not with our club?Want to Jump? Here's What to Do:

- First, read about the two different types
of jumps that are available to first time skydivers, and decide which one is for you.
- For more information about each type
of jump, check out Skydive Delmarva's website.
- Check
our calendar to see when our upcoming skydiving trips will be, and decide when you'd
like to go.
- Attend one of our information sessions to learn everything you might want to know about skydiving and our
club.
-Check the price of the type of jump you want to do. Take a deep breath. Decide if
you still want to do it. You do.
- Decide whether or not you want to get a video and roll of
still pictures (taken by another skydiver in freefall) for $79. It's worth it.
-
Decide when you want to arrive at the drop zone. You must be there by 8:00 am for AFF jumps, and preferably before 11:00 am for
tandem jumps. It's a two hour drive from college park to the dropzone (in Laurel, DE), so you may want to leave
Friday night instead of Saturday morning.
- Join our Listserve (click the link to the left) to get the
latest information.
- Read and print
the directions to the dropzone.
- GO SKYDIVING!
Why Jump with Us?
As fun as skydiving is, a majority of people come to us for their first skydive knowing that they just want to do it once. Thats perfectly fine. We still encourage people to sign up with the club if they are interested in skydiving because as a club member you get a discount at the dropzone and as an added bonus we handle all of your trip logistics. So if you and your friends want to go out and have the time of your life, send us an email, come to a club meeting, or sign up to jump. We always have a great time at the drop zone and we can guarantee you will too!
Congratulations on your license!
