DICE are events, not directly organised by DESI, but for which
DESI, depending on the situation may be able to help with

1) Rides to the events from places the campus and/or
2) Reduced price student tickets

Every such event will be posted at desi_umd@googlegroups.com . They will
also be added to this page in the reverse chronological order . Please

An International Conference on "India's Intellectual Traditions in Contemporary Global Context" will be organised by World Association for Vedic Studies (WAVES) from July 9 to 11 at the Shady Grove Campus of University of Maryland . DESI Umd is supporting the conference with publicity , logistics and volunteer support .

DESI volunteers together with ekal volunteers will be helping out in the India Mela at the kids booth with various games like Rangoli, Face Painting, Spoon Lemon Race, Easter Egg Hunt, Rakhi Making and lots more. If you are interested in having some fun by helping out with the booth, please mail dice@desiumd.org. Eventhough India Mela will be on April 9,10 and 11, DESI will be participating only on 11th Sunday . Rides and entry tickets will be provided . Student ticekts at $13.50 (Individual tickets are $25) . Please send a check in the name of "Mahabazaar" , with a copy of your student Id to DESI, address . Or send us an email at desi_umd@yahoo.com , and register a ticket. You can buy the tickets at the venue on showing your Student ID. Mail us also for rides/carpools.
