Guided Meditation
Sessions
"As a lamp in a
windless place does not waver, so also, one who meditates, whose mind
is controlled, remains always steady in his meditation on the transcendent
self."

Meditation:
Private devotion or mental exercise consisting in any of innumerable
techniques of concentration, contemplation, and abstraction, regarded
as conducive to heightened spiritual awareness or somatic calm.
The practice of meditation has occurred worldwide since ancient
times in a variety of contexts. It may serve purely quietistic aims,
as in the case of certain.

Yoga
and Meditation:
While Yoga has come to mean
different things to different people, in its root sense it refers to the
union with the Ultimate or a truer understanding of the Self -- Who are
we? What happens after one leaves the body? Sacred texts in many
religious traditions speak to the manifestation of the Ultimate in each
being, first descending in the form of light
and then manifesting in every other way: the vibrations of the mind, the
movement of energy and breath, and every movement in the body including
speech. Any one or all of these manifestations can be worked upon with
the attitude of an observer to make it a yogic experience. And all such
experiences are relaxing, relieve stress and are generally beneficial
for the body and mind. Therefore, regular jogging/running can be such
a yogic experience too, as well as sitting down and meditating with a
mantra. Our sessions will combine working with the body (physical exercises),
breath, mantra and light based meditations, and leave it to each attendee
to develop their own daily regimen. However, regular
practice in whatever form that is suitable for each attendee is required
to experience this yoga. Individual suggestions for this will be available
if asked.
