Presentation on Ekal Vidyalaya Movement & Indicorps - An Opinion

Sonal Shah, in her brief speech imparted a wealth of information on the status of literacy in Indian Villages/Tribal Communities. The information she presented on Indi Corps and Ekalvidalaya was in part touching and motivating. Illiteracy and underdevelopment go hand in hand. Both are an expression of people's lack of participation in their society, thus I liked the idea that Ekalvidalaya implement by training a local to teach in local schools. Also, I admire the volunteer created improvement programs put into operation by Indi-Corps volunteers. MORE
