The Faux Paz have released four studio albums. The group's first CD, Ends With a Z,
was released on March 1, 2001.
Reviewers from the Recorded A Cappella Review Board (RARB) called the
album "a superior college CD," also saying, "these guys can kick some butt." The Faux's second release, We Steal
Your Songs, was released in the fall of 2003 after nearly two years of
work in the studio. It was also
reviewed
by RARB, whose
reviewers called the album "energetic and creative" and offered "a huge,
hearty thanks to the Faux Paz." The Faux Paz released their third and
most recent album, For Lack of a Better Word, in July of 2005.
The album was recorded during the spring 2005 semester at the recording
studio at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
RARB called us "a group that delivers dynamically exciting and
harmonically rich tunes," also saying that the group "builds and relaxes
songs to create emotional journeys."
The group's latest effort, Crisis Control, has received national
attention since its release in April 2007. The album's closing
track, "Other Side of the World," was selected for the BOCA 2008
compilation album! Additionally, "24" was
selected to appear on Voices Only 2007, a compilation of the top
collegiate a cappella tracks released each year, and "Heaven's a Lie"
was selected for SING IV, an international compilation featuring the top
professional and collegiate groups from around the world.
Crisis Control has also received favorable RARB reviews.
