The Original Chapter, Alpha-Alpha, is one of the Oldest in Kappa Sigma History. It was First the Epsilon Chapter at the University of Maryland, the First Fraternal Organization in the State of Maryland, when it was Located in Baltimore. The Chapter was then Re-Colonized at John Hopkins under Alpha-Alpha. The charter was the Re-Located and Revived here at the University of Maryland in 1978. Today the Brotherhood is Comprised of a Diverse Group of 20 Individauls. The Chapter Prides Itself on Being a Non-Hazing Chapter Here at the University of Maryland and our Members strive for Leadership and Scholarship. Over the Past Year the Chapter Has Increased its Scholarship more so than any Other Fraternal Organization on this campus. The benefits of our smaller size are increased Leadership Opportunities and Unity. Our Chapter Benefits from a Very Close Brotherhood, Because a Fraternity is for Life not only a College Term. Physical Plant We have Resided in Our Current Chapter House, Located At 7305 Yale Ave off Knox Rd in Downtown College Park, continuouslly since 1980. The Fraternity House Sleeps 12 Comfortably on Two Floors, Currently Meets City Code, and has Been Recently Retrofitted with a Fire Protection System. Major improvements are planned for the house during the upcoming year.
