                                 Small Claims

Small Claims in the State of Maryland are filed in District Court and  be for a value of $5,000 or less, for money only, not the performance of a service, and must not require a discovery phase.

If these three requirements are met, you are entitled to file the claim with the Court Clerk in the appropriate District Court.  The Undergraduate Student Legal Aid Office can help you with this process.  We offer guidance and explanation of the claims process including:
