Tryouts for the 2005-06 Intercollege Team are as follows:

Skate Camp: Sunday, August 28th from 7-8:30pm

Tryouts: Monday, August 29th from 8-9:30pm and Wednesday August 31st from 8-9:30pm.

All full-time students registered for 6 credits or more at the University of Maryland College Park are invited to attend. All Tryouts will be held at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, Maryland.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Open to all registered undergraduate taking 9 credits and graduate students taking at least 6 credits.

- Equipment that is required includes:

-hockey helmet (CAGE/FULL SHIELD WILL BE REQUIRED STARTING THIS SEASON)
-Inline skates (hockey style preferred)
-hockey gloves
-hockey shin/knee guards
-hockey elbow pads
-cup
-numbered hockey jersey
-hockey stick
- You must bring $10 to the tryout. This money is going toward helping to pay for the rink rental time for the tryout.

If you make the team, please plan for the costs of the intercollegiate schedule to be in the neighborhood of $100 per player. This amount will vary. You will, however, have to pay for two jerseys and a pair of Maryland pants. This fee does not include the cost of travel, lodging, or food. The surface at the Gardens Ice House is "Ice Court." It is a very fast surface and players find that they play their best wearing softer wheels (74A). Please plan accordingly.

Follow Baltimore Ave (Route 1) north past the beltway. Take a left onto Rhode Island Ave (if you hit Wendy's you've gone too far). Take a left at the first light (Powder Mill Rd.). Take a right onto Old Gunpowder Rd. Rink is up about five minutes on the left side. (Total travel time is about 15 minutes).
