Welcome
Among the ideals to be fostered by the Pre-Medical Society of the University of Maryland include scholarship, compassion, dedication, service to others and all the attributes desirable for a career as a medical doctor. The organization focuses on guiding pre-med students in building their credentials and learning about the pre-med path. The Pre-Medical Society is a student organization whose purpose is to expand the knowledge and interests in the field and study of medicine in students.

Dr. Robert Fischell's talk at 5:30pm in Charles Carroll Room of STAMP April 16, 2012
Come hear a lecture by Dr. Fischell, the founder of Angel Medical Systems Incorporated and the Fischell Department of Bioengineering at UMD, on Thursday April 19th at 5.30pm in the Charles Carroll Room. Refreshments will be served and this will count as a meeting point!
Active Minds Anti-Stress Fair on 04/19 from 11am-4pm at McKeldin Mall April 16, 2012
On Thursday April 19th come to McKeldin Mall toward the Administration Building from 11am-4pm for some stress relief! Active Minds is hosting a carnival to celebrate National Stress Out Day! There will be many fun stress-relieving games and activities and information on how to manage stress!
Health Professional Team Panel Presentation March 15, 2012
On Thursday March 29th at 6.00pm-7.30pm in 1101 BRB, The University of Maryland, Baltimore and the University of Maryland, College Park present a panel discussion of health professionals from the University of Maryland, Baltimore for College Park students and faculty. If you're interested in the health care of the future and health related careers we encourage you to attend this event!

Come join us for our next GBM on Tuesday, March 13th in Jimenez Hall (JMZ) room 0105 at 5.30pm. You will get a chance to do what doctors do best: diagnose people. We are co-hosting a diagnosis event with the Maryland Neuroscience Society. Please bring your laptops to assist you. We expect it to be tons of fun and the winning team will receive gift cards as prizes!

Elections and Last GBM December 7, 2011
Our final GBM will be held in Jiminez 0105 this upcoming Wednesday. We will be holding elections for officers next semester. If you are interested in running for a position, please fill out the application on ELMS by Tuesday, December 6th. You MUST be an active member to run, although the meeting will count as an attendance point should you need them.

Dr. James Weiss, the Associate Dean of Admissions at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, will be visting Maryland on Monday, November 7, in 1103 Bioscience Research Building. Kaplan Resume Workshop November 2, 2011

GBM Tomorrow October 19, 2011
Tomorrow's GBM will be held in Jiminez 0105. This meeting will be a little more laid back than usual, and we will be discussing exactly what being a Pre-Med entails. If you have any questions about what pre-med is all about, be sure to bring them to the meeting!
