Point System
Honor cords are proof of active involvement in Primannum.
In order to qualify for their honor cords members must meet
service requirement guidelines, which are based on a point system.
Each member needs to average 3 points per semester
in Primannum.
The point system begins the fall semester following your induction
and assumes you will graduate in the spring of your senior year.
If you plan to graduate earlier than that, you can determine
how many points you will need to receive cords by multiplying
the number of semesters you have remaining on the campus after
induction by three.
Example: If you were inducted at the
end of your sophomore year, but plan to graduate a semester
early in the fall of your senior year:
3 semesters remaining X 3 points needed per
semester
= 9 points necessary for honor cords
The general breakdown is as follows:
- If you were inducted at the end of your freshman year, you need 18 points by graduation. (6 semesters total in Primannum)
- If you were inducted at the end of your sophomore year, you need 12 points by graduation. (4 semesters total in Primannum)
- If you were inducted at the end of your junior year, you need 6 points by graduation. (2 semesters total in Primannum)
Serving on a committee is worth up to 3 points per semester,
and serving on the executive board is worth 4 points per semester.
Study Abroad: Members who study abroad for
a semester are still responsible for the 3 points you might
have missed. Since we offer a service event every month, it
will not be difficult to get those 3 points.
