    Purpose: As a welcome back to school, we invite everyone to join us for lunch and enjoy some free pizza.

    Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm 
    Purpose: A fundraiser for our philanthropies, we will be selling patries outside the Stamp Student Union.

    Relief Fundraiser

    Date: September 18, 2001 
    Location: In front of Stamp Student Union 
    Purpose: Collect funds for the American Red Cross, in order to help out with the tragedy in the world trade center and the pentagon. 

    Latino Greek Explosion II

    Date: September 21, 2001 
    Location: Nymburu Ampi-Theater 
    Time: 8:30pm  
    Purpose: Our chapter stroll team will show their dancing skills in this second annual event.

    Purpose: A fundraiser for the American Red Cross, we will be sellig home made pastries. 

    MI VIDA LOCA - Exploring the world of Latina Gangs

    Date: September 26, 2001 
    Location: Stamp Student Union room 1137 
    Time: 7:30pm  
    Purpose: Join us as we explore the world of Latina Gangs. What made them join, what keeps then in the gangs and what can we do to help these ladies out. Our specia guest speaker is an ex gang member, she will talk about her experience and how she is now working with girls who are like her.

      Hispanic Heritage Month Festival Date: September 28, 2001 
    Time: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm 
    Place: Hornbake Mall
    Purpose: Kick off event for a month long celebration at College Park. Live presentations during the day, including one from SIA

      Hispanic Heritage Month Bash!! Date: September 28, 2001 
    Location: Atrium 
    Time: 10:00 pm - 2:00 am 
    Purpose: To continue with the celebration, we invite everyone to join us in a party that will celebrate our Latino Culture and will be playing the hottest Latino music. This party will also serve as a fundraiser for our philanthropies.

    Girl Scouts Date: on-going Spring 2001 
    Location: Langley Park - MD 
    Purpose: To serve as mentors and role models for this local girl scout troop.

    Food and Movie -- "Like Water for Chocolate"

    Location: Nymburu Multi-Purpose Room
    Time: 7:30-9:30pm 
    Purpose: We invite everyone to join us in an evening of free food and entertainment, and also a discussion on the importance of Food in the Latino Culture.

    Purpose: A fundraiser for our philanthropies, we will be selling patries outside the Stamp Student Union. 

      Drug, Alcohol and STD's Information Program Date: February 28, 2001 
    Location: Stamp Student Union Room 1137 
    Time: 8:00pm  
    Purpose: A blunt and important look at the effects of alcohol, drugs and STDs in the college community.

      Charity Basketball Tournament Date: March 30th, 2001 
    Location: Armory

    Purpose: A charity basketball game with special guests and lots of fun. The winners get to pick the charity to which money from admission will go to

    Purpose: Join us in a cook-off, as each greek organization competes by cooking their favorite dish. The catch? The dish has to include your organization's colors. 

      March of Dimes Date: April 29th, 2001 
    Location: Freedom Plaza in Wash. DC 
    Time: 8:00am 
    Purpose: Join us in fundraising and marching for funds for one of our national philanthropies.

    Cinco de Mayo Party
    Date: May 5th, 2001

    Purpose: Fundraiser for our philanthropies. Join us as Eargasm Prod. Spins the hottest sounds of DC. Hip Hop, Salsa, Reggea, Merengue, Go-Go, Bachata and lots more!!

      Dance Lessons Date: September 26, 2000 
    Purpose: Taught all interested to dance salsa, merengue and lots more. Free food was provided.

    Purpose: An open dialogue about the communication and interaction among men and women in the Latino Comunity.

      Latinas In The Military Date: October 5th, 2000 
    Purpose: It took determination and hard work for women to achieve their current positions in the military, but what has been the experience for Latinas? Special guest speaker; Irene Zoppi. 

      AIDS Walk Date: October 7th, 2000 
    Purpose: A walk to raise funds and awarenes for research of AIDS.

    Latino Greek Joint Rush Date: October 11th, 2000 
    Purpose: All were welcomed to come and find out what Latino Greek Lettered Organizations at UMCP are all about.

    Purpose:In an effort to raise funds for philanthrophies, we will have a table outside the Stamp Student Union where we will be handing out 'angel ribbons', donations will be accepted. 

    3rd Annual Friends of SIA Benefit Date: December 2nd, 2000 
    Purpose:A fundraiser that includes dinner and entertainment. Invitation only.
