SIFE- University of Maryland Roles:
Chair of Internal Affairs: Jessie
Communicate with SIFE members
* Provide members with information regarding meetings, events
and projects
* Coordinate meetings
* Help SIFE members in job/internship placement through SIFE headquarters.
* Help recruiting new members
* Help members and Sam Walton Fellow to register with SIFE headquarters
Chair of Finance: Hoang and Pushkar
* Develop a budget for projects/events
* Look for opportunities to obtain funds
* Maintain updated information of SIFE account.
* Allocate funds among project leaders
Chair of External Affairs and Operations: Essi
* Work with other Smith Organizations
* Work with off-campus organizations/entities
* Create a ‘pool’ of off-campus institutions that
SIFE-UM could work with
* Work on the Registration of SIFE under the SGA and SUSA
Chair of Information Systems: Li
* Find opportunities to improve member communication through technology.
* Develop Power Point Presentation for Competition(s).
* Help project leaders in technology-related issues
Chair of Marketing: Bapsi
* Promote events to the public
* Create relationships with media (on and off-campus).
* Work with Chair of External Affairs in promoting our organization
to other entities.
Programming and Events Coordinator: Manjula
* Oversee the development of all different projects
* Make sure all project leaders have the resources they need
* Check progress of all projects
* Coordinate with other members so that on the days of the events,
they run smoothly.
Coordinator of Competition: Rocio
* Oversee that all projects are meeting the guidelines of each
competition
* Remind members of deadlines
* Register our team for competitions within the specified period
of time
* Coordinate with all members for participation and presentation
at the competition.

* Work closely with all members and leaders
* Oversee all coordinator’s, activities and projects
* Work closely with our Sam Walton Fellow
* Work with other organizations on and off-campus
* Work with each project leader continuously and help them in
all issues.
Project Leaders: MOST IMPORTANT ROLE: EVERYONE
* Take responsibility for and be the leader of at least one project
* Design activities, target audience, and objectives of the project
* Find other members and other organizations to participate in
this project
* Determine dates, place and resources needed for the project
* Communicate with other leaders, chairs and coordinators at all
times
* Design ways of measuring results
* Make a list of steps to be taken with set deadlines
* Coordinate all activities during the event
* And most importantly ? Have fun, learn, make contacts and MAKE
