| Minutes: Februrary 23rd, 2004
This is some information about our meeting on Feb 23rd, 2004:
Future Plans
for Our Projects
1. We will have an “Investments” presentation on Monday,
March 8th at 3:00pm à Markets & Societies. Our speakers will
be Hoang, Manjula, Prashant and Farkas. Feel free to contact the M&S
professor Liza Lebrun (llebrun@deans.umd.edu). – guys don’t
forget to take pictures during the presentation.
2. We are still waiting for a response from the Dining Hall to see if
we can make our Investments presentation there as well.
3. On Friday March 12th, we will present at Flowers High School. They
have just confirmed the time à 10:00 – 11:30am. The presentation
will be about entrepreneurship (we will base in on our project with the
Tea House) and we will have Babsi, Rocio and Hoang presenting. We are
still looking for two volunteers to make the power point presentation
for this event.
4. Tea House Project:
a. Dr. Cleveland contacted the director of operations of the Smith school
asking him if it would be ok to place flyers on cars. Unfortunately the
police informed him that it is prohibited.
b. Babsi will contact the Tea House owner to see if we can develop a marketing
event at school. The idea is to have a table at the Stamp where we will
offer coupons and/or free samples of tea.
5. Media:
a. We would like to have an article on the Diamonback about our projects
(Tea House/ investments). Rocio has contacted some people, but let’s
try to make more contacts to see if this can be done before competition.
b. I will try to make a ‘special report’ for Telemundo about
our Entrepreneurship Center.
6. Competition
a. The following are the names I have for members who will attend the
competition on MONDAY MARCH 29th:

IF YOU ARE NOT LISTED ABOVE, AND WOULD LIKE TO GO TO THE COMPETITION (ALL
DAY ON MARCH 29TH) PLEASE E-MAIL ME ASAP.
We will register our team on Saturday, so make sure that you let me know
by then whether you are going or not – I encourage all of our members
to attend, especially our new members and those who are not seniors—.
If anyone has a difficulty because he/she has class all day on Monday,
but would like to go, let me know. I am sure we can make this an ‘official’
event that would allow us to miss class (I promise it will be a lot of
fun too!). And don’t forget to bring your resumes, there are really
cool companies attending).
