We'll be having two guest speakers before November. Brendan Casey, a graduate student on campus, will be speaking about his research on Wednesday, October 14th at 5:30 PM (Place TBA). It will be informal, and there will be a Q&A session.

UMD alumni Alex Nguyen and other GE recruiters will be coming to speak to us on Thursday, October 29th at 5 PM in the Pepco Room (1105 KIM). Light refreshments will be served. This is a great opportunity to learn about co-ops and internships, and they want to meet with our society personally!

Don't forget! We have a restaurant night THIS WEDNESDAY, from 5 -9 PM at California Tortilla! Bring your friends! (Magic Word: SOBE)

We'll be having our 2nd General Body Meeting next Wednesday, September 23, at 5:30 PM in 1105 Kim. Thanks for all your help volunteering this week for the First Look Fair!

At this meeting, we'll be discussing several things:
1. Crab Feast Volunteers, Oct. 2
2. Forming a study group committee!
3. California Tortilla Restaurant Night

In addition, we will be selling awesome SoBE "I <3 BioEngineering" t-shirts at this meeting. If you're interested in purchasing a shirt, please bring cash or a check

Our first general body meeting this semester was incredible. We had a wonderful turnout that included a good number of Freshman. Come find out about the cutting edge technologies, talk with professionals in industry, meet distinguished professors, learn about jobs and internships at the Bioengineering career fair, and more! 2. I <3 Bioengineering T-shirts Sale!
Where: Fischell Festival, Kim Building Rotunda
When: April 21nd from 9:30am to 3pm

Spread the word to all that may be interested! If you already have a shirt, it would be great if you would use that as an example. Shirts will be sold in both gold and black. Come early before your size sells out! The price is $15. The actual t-shirt designs may be viewed at http://www.studentorg.umd.edu/sobe/tshirts.html

3. Hot dog sales, next Friday, April 24th
We need volunteers to sell hot dogs next Friday in the lobby of the Engineering building. Free lunch combo 1 for volunteering. Sign up in hour intervals, from 9am to 1pm. 9am set-up should meet in the student lounge in animal science. Email Omar at obayyub(AT)gmail(DOT)com if you can help.
