When most people think about a sorority, they refer to life on campus as an under graduate. Sigma certainly offers a very well-rounded, balanced lifestyle that our sisters embrace during their college careers. But what about life after college?
Well, one of the many perks to joining a sorority, especially one with such driven young women, is networking. As sisters we have so many great resources. We hear about job and internship opportunities from sisters around the country. Sisters will refer each other for positions. We also have reliable career/graduate school advice from older sisters. And when available, we even have housing for out-of-town interviews, or even just a visit! Sisterhood doesn't end when school ends. It is an eternal bond that keeps us helping each other and leaning on each other long after graduation. It's this kind of support system that Sigma truly values as we continually strive to empower women.
Since 2006, in addition to our alums nationwide, Tau Chapter has established our own growing Alumni Network. Every semester since Spring 2006, Sigma has graduated motivated and talented young women from the University of Maryland and they have gone on to
bright futures.
